The capital city of China has 14 million people and is a world of delightful sights, sounds
and smells. From the moment I arrived at the airport, the sound of honking horns has been
a familar sound everywhere I've travelled.
It's wonderful to finally see so many of the places that for me have only been pictures in
books or images on TV. This is truly a remarkable place.

A huge image of Mao dominates the entrance to the Forbidden City, an elaborate mixture
of ornate temples and open plazas. You can literally feel the history here.

The edge of rooftops in the Forbidden City -- and many other buildings throughout China -- have
ornate figures known as The Parade Of Little Animals.
